Storyline

Rajkumar Shamsher Singh is the only son of the local Maharaja, and has been brought up as a brat, and now he is an irresponsible, alcoholic, and womanizing adult, who wants everyone to bow down before him and his princely rank. One priest refuses to do so, and Shamsher pummels him mercilessly, in vain though. Frustrated, he asks the priest what he should with his mundane life, and the priest tells him that he should repent, sacrifice all his palatial pleasures, and live the life of a simple and ordinary man, and hence learn the true meaning of life, for at least six months. Shamsher agrees to do so, and arranges an accident with his car, which crashes down a mountain, explodes and is blown to smithereens. Everyone in the palace believe that Shamsher is dead. He goes to a nearby village, and a blind woman there mistakes him for her long-lost son and starts calling him Sajjan Singh. Shamsher decides to play along as Sajjan...

Storyline

Bombay-based Ashok is a fast-talking conman who will do anything for a buck, cheat, steal, and even sell a laundry receipt as a lottery ticket. He has, however, written to his village-based mom, that he is the owner of the Taj Mahal Hotel, and is very wealthy, although he lives in a small room in a chawl. Ashok meets with Seema, and both fall in love. Seema has another admirer in Kumar, who will do anything to marry Seema, include abduct Ashok's mom, and hold her captive, until Ashok complies with his demands.

Plot

Shammi Kapoor plays Pritam, a young man who desperately needs a job to pay for his mother's tuberculosis treatment. He finds out about a job tutoring two young women and two schoolgoing children - the catch is that their guardian, Sita Devi Verma (Lalita Pawar) will only hire an old man for the job. Pritam disguises himself as an old man and takes the job. The situation is very tense between the young women and their aunt as the girls' parents have recently died and Sita Devi have been given the responsibility of the caretaker who is very strict. While Pritam's young avatar is romancing one of his two young tutoring charges (Kalpana), his old avatar is romancing their guardian.
